about
I am a visual artist using the Internet as one of my mediums.
Here I create a profile of me—a living and evolving document of a working visual artist—and a gathering place of my work. I am very serious about the blog as a visual documentary tool. Through it I speak to people, and since I have no one to answer to, what I say is truly what I want to say. There’s much to be said about this kind of freedom.
I’ve been at this my entire life. I’m here for the long haul. In my studio is a great back catalogue of work that shows where I’ve been. Each new day brings new ideas, new directions and new work. Collect me. I’ll look great in your art portfolio. My value will increase with age. The future will entail discussions of Christopher Shoup. I’m serious.
One of my art heroes is the fantastic Christo.
Self portraits against bathroom wall. (2009) Shot with Canon PowerShot SD1000, while holding it out in front of myself and snapping the image.

Here is a photo of my first black eye; gotten at age 37; the result of an
accidental
MY FIRST BLACK EYE AT AGE 37
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sunday, January 8. Opened truck door into self, receiving cut and swelling.
- Monday, January 9. Continued swelling. My 10 year old students wanted to know what happened. Told them ”a Ninja was trying to steal the classroom math books and I had to fight him off.”
- Tuesday, January 10. Swelling turns purple.
- Wednesday, January 11. Appearance of pink beneath purple.
- Thursday, January 12. Pink turns to jaundice yellow; purple starts to fade. (Photo taken in kitchen; Amanda Shoup)
